hello,
if you look underside of its abdomen, you will see abdomen parts, males have 8 parts, females 6. it is sometimes hard to sex mantises, because they may move around alot, put it in a clear cup or bowl, and look at the bottom to count the abdomen parts. This makes it a lot easier!!!!
