Nice were they fertile? 2 days ago my female layed 50 eggs and every single one is fertile(i candled them). ERIk Rating: 5/5

no, she wasn't bred and is only 5" s/v! She began showing colors last Dec and I thought for sure she would lay in january - she waited until May! But she did real well. Congrats on all your little chams!

yes... veiled chameleons can have 42 eggs. Sometimes they can have more than 42 eggs!

my veiled had 66 she layed 36 and the last 30 were found still in her after she past on.

I'm SO sorry to hear about your cham :( 66 is a HUGE clutch! Did she give you signs of being eggbound? I was so afraid of that with Luna b/c she was showing signs of being gravid for 5 months! Not bred so I had no date to go by - and it was my first ;)

One of the things I learned is that the amount of food a female eats before mating or becoming gravid can have an effect on the clutch size. We love to feed and breed our chams! I don't breed and after the lengthy time with Luna she does not get overfed. Not that this is the only thing. Another is breeding too young which many people do. And someyimes it just happens. :(
