Theodore, a Picasso/Ambilobe

Description: This is Theodore, a son of Mr. Picasso and a WC Picasso female from Legendcham. I am uncertain whether he will grow to be blue bar or red bar. When calm he shows blue bars, but when fired up his bars are a solid orange-red.

Mike,

Theodore is looking good. I like the
intense red/orange in him. He will probably develop more of the cobalt blue
coloration in his bars as he ages. His
dad had the cobalt blue bars, and the female threw babies with both red and
blue bars. Although most have developed
the blue bars. It will be interesting to
see how he develops. Looks like you are
doing a great job with both males, they
look very healthy!

Hi great looking cham I see you house them in bird cages. How has that worked out and what size cage do you use? Do you have any pics of your cage.
Thanks

It's not a bird cage. I make cages from wire shelving (the type that is sometimes called "linen shelving"). This is wire shelving that is covering with a white laminate. The chameleons can climb on it without injuring their toes, it is water-proof and easily cleaned, it is very sturdy, and it is white, as opposed to the black of most cham cages.

At Home Depot, you can buy 6' sheets of 20" wire shelving. I use bolt cutters to cut one sheet into 20" x 20" squares for top and bottom, and I use electrical ties to tie the pieces together.

I will try to take a picture of the cages and post it. I have really enjoyed cages made from this material.
