My friend captured an insect exactly like this one, except hers had a slightly longer body. It has 6 legs and it managed to stand on its back legs and it seemed to have a mouth that opened sideways, it didn't appear to have wings as we couldn't see any. My friend is worried as she doesn't know what this insect/beetle is and as she is a childminder she is afraid that it is dangerous or unclean. It was also found in Scotland. Glasgow infact. Whereabouts in Scotland did you find your insect?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thank you.
