Emu

Description: Emu (pronounced eem-yoo)Dromaius novaehollandiae. This photo was taken recently at Innes National Park at the southern end of Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. Male birds incubate the eggs and the hatchlings stay with them untill their adult plumage begins to appear at around 7 months. Adults stand about 6' tall. If you like Australian fauna, check out the rest of my gallery and please leave a comment or two. Regards, Frilly.
