Hi ! Very nice tortoise. You said " Lots of care is required to maintain it's growth rate at a stable condition to prevent scute problems." Which care ? Could you explain please ? What is your method ? Is it different for yni and for radiated ? Thank you very much.

ALL THE TORTOISE SHOWN ARE NOT FOR SALE!!! THANKS FOR VIEWING. CHEERS!

Thanks. Lots of care is required to maintain it's growth rate at a stable condition to prevent scute problems. Regular soaking in warm water is required, at least 5 times a week 30mins per session. Diet plays a very important part. Excessive Protein do not work very well for radiata and yniphora. Deworm them every 6 months. I practise that to all my tortoises. If possible, especially for yniphora. Keep them individually. As they are very shy torts by nature. When they are stress their immune system will weaken and may cause digestion problems, RNS, eye infection, very soft and wet stool, etc. And when all this happens, vitamins and minerals required for growth maybe distorted. Natural SUN is always the best for all tortoises, it provides a natural source of vitamin D3. Hope i have answered your question. Till today, i'm still trying very very best to keep all my tortoises shell as round and smooth as i can:)

Thanks for your answers. Yniphora seems to be a very difficult and complicated species. How do you compose their feeding to control their growth rate ? Don't you think deworming them every 6 months is too much ? Do you recreate a cool season ?

As for their diet, maintain it by giving them their dark leafy greens. Shell growth rate is very much depend on the amount of protein consumed. Well you can try deworming them once a year. I do not recreate cool climates, as they really dont do well in cool climate geographic area.

Thanks!

Hi Goldentorto. You can look thru the comments, i mentioned some information regarding diet and health for Yniphora and Radiated tortoise. High Yellow means that the radiated tortoise have more yellow coverage over it's shell. Which is very rare, and always command a very very very high price depending on how many % of it's shell is yellow.
