Description: Hi. Im Berkshire, ENGLAND. I found this amazing creature in the garden, he was lazy and wasnt flying too well, I assume the poor thing is on his last legs.
He is huge for UK standards, 2" long from sting to antennae. He is mainly black and yellow with 2 piece wings. There is a nasty looking solid 'sting' type lance projecting out the rear, with a yellow 'flick' to the end of his abdomen. I felt sorry for him but adidnt take him for granted as he looks like bad news if angry. What is he? Thanks. Simon

Hello,
I live in Michigan in the U.S. and have found the same creature in my garden tonight! Have you found out what it is? It's bigger than any wasp or hornet I have ever seen! Would be very interested to know what it is...if you find out could you pass me the info. along? Thanks!!
