Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

Description: A comparison between Steve's two color "phases"... I can't say I know for certain what each phase "means", but he seems to be the lightest when he is either relaxed (sleeping, on my shoulder, etc), or excited (chasing crickets/roaches). He's typically darker when basking under his light, or first thing in the morning when he's running around the cage looking for food. He also can turn his entire beard and upper chest jet black, while keeping the rest of his body bright yellow. This happened only once (I thought he suddenly went through puberty or something) when he overheated in a small travel terrarium. His beard faded back to white once I took him out.
