Well put. By the way that must be cool having a rattle snake as pet, my parents would kill me if brought anything venomous home.

I'm 15, and I can't wait to get my first Gabby next week!! I want to show it off to my friends, and bring it around the neighborhood!! I would love to get a necklace kind of the same pattern as a gabby. I'll wear my brown dress, put my baby gabby around my neck, and see if those colors match nicely with my dress in the mirror.

SSC you are a moron. you say how people should not say children this children that.. Take a look at your words.. You say you are not stupid... YET YOU HIDE A DEADLY SNAKE FROM YOUR PARENTS AT THEIR HOUSE! putting them all at risk without knowing.. that right there says you are a MAJOR MORON in my book.

when I read that a teen wants to get a giboon for any reason I gasp!!! I have always had large non-ven. snakes and they have turned on me more than once. I now know the feeling of being attacked by a 10' ret. python and burm. python - I was lucky that I could grab a tail and unwind it or I would not be here today. I have since given up on snake ownership but am still in love with them all. Beautiful and amazing creatures - best left in their natural habitat. I'd love to learn to free handle but nothing and I mean nothing is worse than losing a limb or life!

I've held Copperheads and Rattler's like that but i don't know if i could ever do that with a Goon. Absolutely beautiful snake but.. Wow.. Oh and as a reply to the 'Children' postings.. Age doesn't matter, It's experience and smarts that matter. I'm only 16(I'm very mature for my age but that's besides the point), I handle venomous snakes BUT I'm careful about it, I know my limits. I'm not shaking and scared because i know the snake can sense that. I wear thick leather gloves(I know its not going to stop them but it helps) and i very calmly pick them up, Let them freely roam in my hands. I know i could get bit at anytime without notice, But i love it. I love the feeling. There scales, The looks they give you. They can tell there safe with me, That i wouldn't ever hurt them, I'm just a gentle giant to them but i have an enormous amount of respect for them. And i believe they can sense that. There calm because I'm calm. So no, Age doesn't matter. It's what you know and how you act.
