This is my first try at building my ball python a cage, it is 4 foot long, 2 feet wide, and 3 feet tall. It's kinda bare, any ideas on what to add?

The cage is coming a lone very nicely. I used your style cage.
We even put shelves in it and inside lighting. we still need the door and I want to paint it white since I think that shows the snakes colors.
So far not bad its cost about $3,000 and 50 stitches between the 2 of us lol just kidding.
We did have to do it a few times but its fun and once you do it you learn and want to build more.
thanks

thats a good tank, nice and big. the only thing i would "change" is the cardboard hide cardbord is a roaches favorite kinda home, they can live in it and give your snake a disease. but yeah after what i've read its gonna be great....aspen bedding, sheves, more branches, stained wood...its gonna be great. oh by-the-way haha to give you an idea of how huge that tank is....pyro and hydro will fit in their vision cage for all their life....its only 36x28x18 lol, good luck with the cage. post a pic as soon as its finished,i can't wait to see it

Finally found a Ball Python that's more spoiled than mine is!! Granted, when Xavier grows up I'll prolly build him one just like it!! lol Subtrate suggestion, Coconut! Yes, I said coconut. Well, actually it's the coconut husks ( the outer section ) it comes in various sizes ( I've seen it as fine as sand all the way up to 2"X2" pieces, It holds moisture ten times better than Reptile bark, Plus it makes it easy during shedding time, spray the area your hide usually is with water, put the hide back over it, and walla, the water shall evaporate, go to the ceiling of the hide and "rain" inside the hide. I've had perfect sheds every time doing that, but then again, I'm using a UTH under the hide as well, so yeah, any ways, GREAT cage!!!
