If I thought the snake ate a person, I would kill it, too. The person has a right to a burial, doesn't he/she? And, once a wild animal learns that it can eat people, it is generally accepted that it is a threat, and eliminated. I don't know that it is as big a deal as it is with a mountain lion, but I think th same concept applies to repltiles, as well. As someone stated, it is not the animal's instinct to eat people - that's what makes it necessary to eliminate those that do. And yes, we are predators, and currently at the top of the food chain, where we would like to stay. How is it acceptable for a snake to kill prey, but not for us? Killers are killers. I own two snakes, and am considering getting more. I like snakes very much. It is not right to detroy all of a certain breed simply because it killed a family member, but I would try top find the one that did...

It is unreasonable to expect otherwise.

As for the validity of tghe picture, and whether or not it acutally ate a person, I dunno, and it doesn't seem that anyone else here does, either.

Actually, I never said that we should eliminate the entire species to "teach them that it is wrong." As a matter of fact, I like big snakes, and I don;t want to see them all eliminated. I don't know where you read that, but it wasn't in one of my posts. What I said was that when an animal kills a human, it is generally accepted that we destroy that particular animal.

Read again. I don't think I used too many big words...

Yes its sucks that a snake ate a human but like eveyone said ITS NATURE and there isint much we can do about it retiles were here befor us and will probebly be here after us. every thing has to eat. Some people eat snake meat and i dont see snakes comming after us? Snakes do not know any better that just to eat to survive. Snakes dont live to eat they eat to live!

Did you bother to read my posts? Somehow you people got it in your minds that I am condoning some kind of attack on snakes - a type of reptile genocide or "revenge." All I said was that I would try to kill the animal that killed a person. Not every single animal of the same breed. If it were your family member, you would want them to have a proper burial (or cremation, or whatever you belive...) Let your dog bite the neighbors kid and see what happens. That's part of nature, too, right? We kill thousands of dogs every year, so when your irresponsible neighbor lets his aggressive dog kill your kid, that shuold be okay, right? We let the animal live to kill another kid, too?

I am well aware that the snake just killed the eprson to eat. So what? He killed a person, and doesnb't fear people anymore. It's easy for you to sit there in Chicago and make statements about nature when you live in a city, which has vritualyl nothing to do with "nature."

"This snake had every right to eat the man, thats nature for you, except it or don't."

Prepare to have your own logic thrown back in your face: Man rules the world and can and will do as he pleases. Except it or don't. (and try to deny it I dare ya.)

Calm rational discussion tends to be better that hardline emotional responses FWIW.

This argument is pointless that snake would have died if they killed it or not, its impossible for a snake to digest someones pants and I can see points in all arguments but This argument is pointless that snake would have died if they killed it or not, its impossible for a snake to digest someones pants.

I never said not to kill the snake because if that were my family member i would feel the same way. Just like the with the dog i would have it put to sleep with out a dought. I only am trying to say that people should not go and kill every retic just because it ate a person.

My good man, I'm not offended or angry. Never was. Forums can't provide tone and gist. Picture me 'saying' everything with a smile.

Enjoy.

I can't believe anyone could be mad at the snake! I am glad we don't leave things up to ignorant people to make any judgements on certain subjects. Irrational idiots on a rampage to kill snakes for eating is unacceptable. By the way where were the parents and friends of this guy? I know this was taken in a third world country but maybe it will teach parents to keep an eye on thier kids. If he was older it was just natural selection, weeding out the dumb and weak. My point is don't blame an animal for it's natural instinct, blame those with out it.
