Maneater?(!!)

Yeah, if your a snake hater why are you on kingsnake anyway? But look I think the snake did swallow the guy, and maybee it didn't get eaten by the head becuse you don't know which way the snakes head is.Besides the guy looks partly digested, don't you think, I mean hes all slimy from bile or whatever and he is definitely dead.

HippyGuy, maybe the snake was not noticed until he was in striking range? They do manage to kill large prey, and I really doubt goats go up to them, and poke them before the snake wraps...Granted, the guy may have done something stupid, and he should have been aware of his surroundings, but it's a little different being in the jungle with a huge, wild snake, than it is to handle your anaconda that you've raised it's whole life, in your living room...

Well,I whould kill a snake if it killed my neice,nephew brother or sister..go's on and on.But this is me....I got pissed when a copper head bit my chihuahua...I spared his/her life though because it was big and old..he was 3 1/2 feet...My chihauhau lived so i let him/her live.If they killed my chihuahua,cat,goat or rabbits I whould not care,id kill it then burrie it..But this is me.

First of all...wtf? That scares me a bit. I just bought my first snake and it's supposed to grow a little bit bigger than me, i hope it doesnt' eat me.

Its a bunch of BS. There is no point and killing a snake like that. It didnt do anything wrong, just trying to get a meal. Killing the snake would not bring the person back. Poor snake probabbly waited for days to get his hard earned meal and got killed for it. Just my thoughts.

Summing up the posts…I fully agree with snakeman2004 and wizbang………animal activism should stop well before you end up in their tummies! Any body who says that animals have a place above humans are sadly wrong and are hypocrites. Now before you come up with your cudgels after me, let me assure you that I do my best to conserve venomous snakes (especially cobras and kraits) by removing them from inhabitations in India, where they face certain death. I have had the ‘pleasure’ of being bitten by a cobra (my mistake) and going thru every harrowing ordeal before I got back my dear life. I still continue my work. However, I also advise people that if it is question of human life to that of the snake, it is better to swiftly kill the snake.
Bluetongue…a boiid would never die or even get indigestion due to the pants. Large boiids (as all other snakes) usually excrete the undigested mass of hair, hooves etc after a large meal. The dress of this man would probably also be expelled (though it would need a hell of a lot of ironing if it were to be worn again!!)
Hippyguy…you have got it all wrong about the mode of hunting of large boiids!! They never chase their prey….nor do they wait to be pestered by them! Usually, the victims never see their killer, as they are almost always ambushed. In fact a boiid that is discovered by their potential prey quietly slips off to a new location. And don’t be lulled into complacency by the sluggishness of your large boiids!! They are extremely fast when it matters…. that is while attacking a potential prey…YOU!! Ask the 20 odd unfortunate pet owners in the USA who get snuffed out by their ‘oh so sweet’ boiid pets every year!
I also disagree with the post of Miltbrock…. That these photos create a dread of snakes. These photos are facts and it is only fair to let people know that the risk of death is always a possibility with large boiids, so that they will be prepared. It is only fictitious movies like Anaconda, which spread blatant lies that should be banned.
To come to the trivialities…whiptaildue, you worry about your children seeing these ‘horrible’ pictures but you don’t mind them reading horribly racist posts about “Stupid Asians”? Strange! Thank you labialpitstop fro your ‘appropriate’ reply to whiptaildude. By the way whiptail and lordoftheherps….it doesn’t take stupidity to become a prey. Just bad luck! And do u have any idea as to how many ‘intelligent “ Americans fall prey to large boiids every year? The latest statistics is ~20 per year (Source “ The Big squeeze” telecast in Animal Planet). And to say that there are no natural large boiids in the USA and all these victims are prey to their exotic pets!!

First of all, the snake was hungry. If you're hungry, you eat. Nobody is eradicating humans because we kill a deer, or a harmless rabbit. But it's ok to kill snakes because it decides it wants to eat. If a snake eats a human, I see no problem in killing that snake, that's fine, it's the families choice, but it's absolutely no reason whatsoever, to stereotype big snakes and say they are maneaters, so they must die. Dogs kill and eat harmless bunnies, should we kill them all? Stories of Komodo Dragons eating children, and Komodo's are protected.
People are ignorant. I don't like to see dead people or hear of people being killed by lions, tigers, sharks or anything else. But to kill a bunch of animals because one kills a human is retarded.

Wizwise2000, I see that you are referring to the killiong of all large boids as maneaters, etc.. I dont' recall reading anything in this thread where anyone said we should eliminate the entire popualtion of large snakes.

Sreesnake, it's good to know that there are some level-headed, non-hypocritical people out there. All of these people talking about not killing the snake after it ate a person would be the first to have it gutted after their sister disappeared.

Exactly, it is easy to say that humans are stupid and primitive because they wish to find a dead beloved relative. You should think about who it is in that snakes stomach. You dont care about this guy sitting in that snake and neither do I, But replace him with your mother your Dad perhaps you brother or sister. Now how would you feel about the snake. I wouldnt be to happy and would rather have a funeral with a body in the coffin than spend the rest of my life wondering what happend to my Mum.
