I would never feed my "Buddy" anything that I knew was bad for him. Thanks for your input.

The thing to remember is that iguanas are designed for to herborvorous, the intake vegetation, and not carnivorous, the intake of meat. Over time feeding your iguana meat protein will cause it severe medical problems. Unlike lizards like the water dragons, which are omnivourous, iguanas should not be fed meat protein, just not healthy overall.

Some iguanas are just that tame. I can do anything with one of my igs because its a trust issue that you arent going to drop it or hurt him. It looks relaxed to me not sleepy and lethargic.

I can hold my igs like that. They are way younger than this guy but they are still tame enough that all I have to do is put my hand in the cage and they climb on it no matter where they are and I can pretty much do anything with them.

That is one beautiful iguana. Great job with him. I agree with what you said about when you first choose an iguana. That is how I picked my iggys. I also agree with you about the feeding of meat or animal protien. I would like to get some advice from you about husbandry for iggys. I spoil my iggys, and I would like to see them be as happy and content as your guy there. Do you ever go on the iguana forum here? There are a lot of great people there with great iggys. I'm sure they would love to hear about you iggy and see more pictures. Thanks. Your iggy is really Awesome.

Is that a differant species from the green iguana? I have never seen pics of an iguana that was gold and white. Is it just a green iguana color morph, or a specific species? Thanks

he's HUGE! he looks very mellow and healthy... he's lucky to be one of the few full-grown iguanas who has an owner who really takes care of him. :D

too many people get them as tiny babies and just don't think of proper husbandry, and they wind up in rescues when they get too big or if they're too wild because they weren't well socialized. :(
