The hide box is cardboard, that we cut a couple of large enough access holes, and cut one side entirely off.

It's under the wood chips on the bottom of his cage, so he has the feeling of being underground. He uses it all the time.

And no - when he's in it, there IS no getting him out without tearing apart his tank.
