I would like to know what it is.

That thar is a newly hatched corn snake.

This is actually a southern plains rat snake. It looks a lot like a okatee corn, but the corn has bands, while the rat snake has more of a spotted pattern.

Is southern plains rat snake's range in Virginia? I think its a corn, given the range and apearence, I would think a corn snake.

its definatly a corn snake because corn snakes ahve that triangular shape on their heads which make sit easy to identify them
