Sorry all wrong pict. This is a redear that came from the same fish hatchery. This female slider has had half of her face bitten off by another turtle. She is doing good right now. I have to hand feed her. She will never be able to be released back into the wild because of her injuries.

Poor thing. Can she see out of her left eye? Is any of her nose left? You say you hand feed her. Do you mean you just put food up to her face and she bites it or do you have to put it into her mouth?

Her left eye is gone, but her right eye is ok. Her hole noise in missing. She will eat on her own out of my hand but it takes her a long time to eat. It breaks my heart to know that people were the cause of this. If they had left her alone she would be fine right now. She was put in a steel tub that could hold about 100gal, but there was no water. There were 63 other turtles put in there with her. No one feed them or watered them. They were going to be sold as food. I have been able to buy about 50 of these turtles and released 40 of them back to the wild.
