Keywords: walking stick
This guy (gal?) was climbing around on our Lady Bankston Rose bush the other day. It is approx 10.5" long to the tip of its forelegs. I'm holding up a CD case next to it for reference. Anybody know anything about this guy?
Cool picture Jwoodruff. I don't much about him other than we have them everywhere here. I posted on another picture, and asked if they were harmless to pick up. Do you know?

hi,
that looks like a northern walking stick. a pregnate female too.
northern sticks usually eat rose, oak, etc. that is probably why it was there.

they are harmless, they only have mouthparts designed for cutting leaves.
