This guy was on the pump house at a friend's. She lives out in the boonies here in Oregon. My closest guess is a sheetweb weaver (subfamily Linyphiinae) Pimoa sp. but my literature says "pacific coast". We're about an hour from the coast. What do you think?
The dark violin marking on it's back is similar to that of the recluse. This is obviously not a recluse, but I wonder if they are related, and if this spider is harmful??

I think that mark has more to do with the shape of the carapiece.
recluse spiders typically have six eyes, in groups of two arranged in a semi circle at the face. Also, their abdomens are not shiny but rather dull and fuzzy looking. This spider is shiny. I'm going to look around a bit more. I'll post my findings.

Good call. I am assuming this spider is harmless? I am going to post the recluse I found in my bathroom about 2 weeks ago. Check it out. I will title it Sink Buddy.
