Look what i found at the lokal pet store here in Denmark, right from Afrika, did not belive my eyes, neither when i saw the price tag, 62$ for this, and for me very "Axanthic or IMG" looking ball python! of course i bought it, and left the store, with a big ugly smile all over my face!

Hi Guys!

I know killmill, and will give you my word on that this isn't a fake. The darker spots are superficial scratches, which will go away when the wounds are healed.

No! This isn't a fake, for sure!
The darker spots are (like Ole comments) superficial scratches, which will go away when the wounds are healed.
It´s an import!Wild-caught!
This naturally occurring morph has many interesting possibilities!
The total lack of yellow pigmentation in the Axanthic is an essential ingredient in the creation of the Snow Ball since it removes the yellow in the normal amelanistic albino, producing a white or near-white animal.
There are currently 3 different proven genetic lines of Axanthic Ball Pythons (VPI, SnakeKeeper & Jolliff.) All three of these are simply recessive and have shown to be incompatible thus far.
Is this no.4? i dont know! it will take years of hard work to prove the genetic!

The more im looking at it the less sure i am about it, the brown on the ax looks more like normal brown colour to me and the head stripes have a yellow tint. Thats also one hell of a lot of scare tissue, any chane of posting more photos with close ups of the scars please. I really want to beleave its a axanthic and from the above not every one beleaves it so prove em wrong if you can.
thanks in advance

It´s done! and i can post a new pic when it´s healed! when i got it i cleaned it up, and i know, there is no brown underneath the wounds!
But you are right! the head stripes has a very slightly shadow of yellow tint!
And it´s also right there, all my doubt is! I will post more pic´s which shows that!

Very nice and a heck of a find!

It looks a lot like two females I saw briefly at a show recently. They where supposedly both captive bred sisters from normal parents but both had these more normal looking fragments along the back. Their owner also has a male (import I think) that might be the same thing and will try breeding them this year.

I've got an import female that I think is the same except she doesn't happen to have those on her back (maybe they just scar that way). She is getting darker and more odd light lemon yellow on the back though. I'll post a new pic after she finishes her shed. Here is her page:

I'm sending her on a breeding loan to Alvaro Garcia for his Silver Ghost male:

I'm hoping mine is the same but his doesn't seem to have yellow so maybe not.

I guess time will tell which of these 6 snakes are genetic and if any of them are the same. Alvaro's male, my female, and the two sisters all shed patternless like ghost ball pythons. Let me know how yours sheds please. Also, how big is he and is he eating? Will you try to breed him this winter? I've not been able to find anyone to post how Desert Ghosts or RDR's Dirty Joe shed.
