I think they are some kind of box turtle. If these are the same turtles in the other photo, I can't tell if the plastron's have a hinge. Box turtles will have a hinge on their plastron. These turtles are very calcium deficient due to poor diet and/or insufficient UVB/natural unfiltered sunlight. Yeh they look like Eastern Box Turtles. Their shells are very deformed. Boxies need to be housed outdoors, if not kept, they will most likley look like the ones you have there.

No I am not the owner and just trying to help a wildlife sanctuary with the identification of these two that were dropped off at their facility. I assumed they were box turtles, but they just looked quite "strange"....malnourished.
