I found around 20 or so of these things in my scorpion cage. They are about 1 inch long and are always underground. They are very fast and seem a bit agressive. Their abdomens bend over their backs not under. I have an emperor scorp if that helps. I feed it only crickets. I have no idea what these little devils are. any help would be alot of....uhh...help. Thanks.
They kind of look like the aliens in the Aliens movies. In a way...

hmmm looks like the pupae of some sort of beetle. have you ever had mealworms in the tank? these look a lot like when a mealworm metamorphosises (sp?) into an adult beetle

I agree. They look a lot like mealworm beetle larvae.

Well, they finally grew up. They turned out to be beetles. But damn huge. About 1 1/2 inches in length, very dark black, huge pinsers at the mouth, and the most vile smelling chemical that is excreted from the butts by some that looks like a snails head that whips out when you pick them up. I'm sure its a defense.

Actually his description suggests that they are Devil's Coach-Horses. I believe they are a type of rove beetle.. They Eat snails, slugs, and any small, slow insects they can catch.
