Is that snake being kept in that cage? You have some great looking red tails. I am thinking about getting one my self. How old/long is that one?

nah, the cage behind her is the home of my male rosy boa....she's kept in a custom enclosure with my female....and i did it again lol. "she" is actually a "he"...but i just found out. and i'm still used to calling him a her. he's roughly 4 to 4.5 feet long now

I do the same thing with my bp, I thought she was a he for like, 6 months. I am suprised that she hasn't bit me over it yet! How quickly do those grow? I am trying to figgure out what type of cages I will need and by what time. They are just sooooo pretty!

boas usually grow a LOT slower then pythons....i believe that they accomplish the bulk of their growth in the first 4 years of life or so. when i first got this particular one, i kept her in a 20 gallon long, and eventually moved her into a custom enclosure that i felt my albino burmese had outgrown. she now lives in there with my larger female redtail.

he's eating once a week, except he skipped this week for a shed. usually one large rat will put him in his place
