I beleve it was smooth I had reliced it after it roamed the house for 3 days the pict was just befor relice, capitured by a co-worker and put in a juce container I keept it in a box that night at work and took it home then lost it in the house later it showed up on an old shirt I had by the back door, it never attempted to strike, I put it back in the box and made the photo then seeing it was healthy and doing well I reliced it in the back yard

Boyd, what Buckydent meant is that it was a smooth snake, which it is not. It is a Brown Snake. Smooth snakes are patternless and their head is smaller and more narrow than the body.

ho, I thought he ment the skin on the snake haven't seen the snake any more, wish I had keept it are thay uncommon in mississippi

No, they are pretty common. I have caught several this year. I live in Starkville.
