Cascavel thanks for replying! I have lived in west virginia most of my life(wheeling area)I moved back here from California in july 2003, but I have been finding,and photographing West virginia Timbers for a long time. The specimen pictured was captured at Dolly Sods and has been in captivity since 1986, He was captured by greg parks, at the Ogelbay Nature center in wheeling and is kept for educational purposes. I did a series of talks for cub scout "fun day" and snapped this photo during a break. Are you from West Virginia?

I am from West Virginia, I spend my summers all over those mountians. I love the Dolly Sods area. Some of the darkest timbers I've ever found, I found there.

Hey, I'm from Wheeling too! I have been to dolly sods numerous times and never found a timber. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Got any suggestions as to where to look?
