Nice snakes, but I think their enclosures are to small.

Yeah those snakes deffinitly need larger cages especially if they are in the one on the picture together.

There cages are just fine! They are big enough.... Have you ever put a python in a large cage??? I have seen large pythons at zoos with large cages and 99.9% of the time, they sat in only one small section of the cage. Lern about snakes before u make posts like these...

I know quite alot about pythons and their behavior, and it is my opinion that the cage on top of the white one is to small. The snake should have more room than twice it's size when curled up.

it is much better for the animal to have a large cage. there is such a thing as an enclosure that is too small. there is no such thing as an enclosure that is too big. those large pythons at the zoo may be in one spot at that particular time, yes, however nocturnal animals are active at night, and i'm willing to bet if you were to go to the zoo after lights outs they travel all over the cage.

oh please believe, i'm very confident that the people don't keep the two retics in the top tank. they retics seem to be very healthy, and in overall good shape indeed. my post was soley to bring to light the fact that an enclosure cannot be too big, but can be too small.

we had that tiger in the top cage for about an hour, he has a much larger cage in the new snake room. thanks for the concern though

i figured it had a bigger cage. i'm guilty of keeping a large snake in a small cage over night once. i had just gotten a new 9 .5 ft burm, and had to move the entire cage upstairs, so i had him in a 55 gallon tank overnight until i the next day when some of my friends came over to help move his real cage.

ok, #1 that cage is way to small, if that snake wanted to strech out he wouldn't have a chance in hell. #2 come on thats probley the snakes real home considering there a hid spot and all. and #3 Say you had a tiger and you were taking a picture wouldn't you put it in its big cage reather than that piece of crap... I mean if it was mine why would i take a picture of it in this cage when it has a "big" cage.

Hey,
Retics are my love. I know quite a bit about them. Now that cage is too small on top but I believe that the bottom cage is probley for the one out in the pic. That should be justfine for now. I keep my 15 foot male in a 6'Long x 3 feet'deep x 3' tall cage and hes very comfortable. Now my 9 foot adopted burmese that I just got is in a cage to small ( 90 gallon 4'x 18" x 2'. But hes being coverted into a bigger one soon.

No, you guys are right. That top cage IS too small. None of you were saying anything that didn't make sense. At the time,..we didnt 'have anything else. I am happy to say that now, Miller (in pic) is in a HUGE cage. IT's an "Animal Plastics" cage and He just loves it. He LOVES to crawl around and rub his face and scratch his back. It is not good to house large snakes in small enclosures... The cage on the top housed a smaller Retic but it still was too small. That big retic in the pic was housed in the white cage on the bottom . ...a custom made cage. No way would I stuff him in that top cage. I'd be insane. He wouldn't even fit! It's easy to assume when you just look at a pic. If one is ever curious ...just ask the poster! If the poster is lying...than they will suffer the consequences later I believe. Lying gets people nowere and catches up on you. The people and thier comments here are all descent adn make perfect sense. But remember just to ask the poster first. OR you could guess as long as it's not to harsh. I would indeed be angry though if I saw a pic of a huge snake all stuffed in a tiny enclosure. ...which I HAVE and it pissed me off.
Anyway..like I said.. Miller is now in an even bigger cage. HE was actually fine in the white one pictured. but his new Animal Plastics cage is the best. The white wooden one was warping. I hated it. Well, we still have it. It's just too heavy.
