Hogna species??

Keywords: Wolf spider hogna species identification

Hi,

Quick query for anyone with good taxonomic skills:

This wolfie was found by a client of mine in Romford (on the outskirts of London, UK) in her kitchen. She was worried re venom etc, which seems unlikely, but also whether it was indigenous or whether it might have come in with christmas fruit supplies.

For size purposes, the box it is in is 8cm (just over 3 inches) in width, so the 'body' in total is around 2.5cm (1").

It seems to be most similar to a Hogna species, but we don't have indigenous Hognas in the UK.

Any guesses as to what species it is?? Anyone likely to want it as a pet / collection specimen??

Ron
