I'm concidering on acquiring a BTM. Out of curiosity, what is the growth in the first year or two? Do you work with waters as well?

I reccomend them!! They are awsome animals to work with! I would have to say that imo, these are the best large monitors to have as captives!! Not to mention, they are avil as cbb! What more can you want!? ;-) (runner up would be argus)
There growth is astounding! 4' + Is commonly attained in the first year alone!
Ive worked with salvator as rescues and adoption/placement animals. Although they are found readily in the pet trade, the are ill suited for captiveity, and require alot more space than one might expect. They are not widely cbb, so the primary source for the pet industry, are wild populations.
