aaahhh at last hopefully someone that can help me, I'm just learning about tarantulas and i have one that looks like yours called a mexican red knee, but after looking at pics and descriptions his abdomen doesn't match what it should be its a kind of rusty red, and instead of having red/orange knees they still look rather black and white after 3 molts and he has the leg span of 3-4 inches so far he also has a beige coloured carapace<<(where his eyes are) hopes thats right not black? can u help at all please

Definately sounds like a mexican red rump tarantula. Look up pics to compare, I am almost positive that's what it is.

Is this a pic of your spider because it looks very like a smithi.
Anyway, i don't think your's a red rump because b. vagans lack the red/orange coloration of the b.smithi.

Umm yeah.. The picture above is my mexican red knee/b.smithi. Next time look at who posts the picture and who is posting messages, I'm sure it will make things less confusing.
