i have a question about the cage. It is safe to put the light Fixture (Dome) on top of the Reptarium? will the Chameleon get thermal burns if it sits there? and will the mesh loose its colour from the light being there??? please.... i need 2 know!

My rule of thumb is that if I hold my hand under my chameleon's light and it is uncomfortably hot for my hand, then the light will burn my chameleon. And remember that your chameleon may hang upside down under the light, getting as close as possible.

So far I have found that a 40 watt incandescent bulb is enough to provide my chameleon a basking spot and does not burn the chameleon. I can hold my hand right under the 40 watt bulb, and my skin feels warm but there is no burning sensation.

I have my lights sitting directly on top of my cage. But I do not use a Reptarium and I don't know how they hold up to heat.

Well i know that Reptariums can stand a lot of heat (i have my bearded dragon in one) but all i wanted to know is if it would be ok for the chameleon!

All but about 3 plants are real. The fake ones are on the sides higher up to help make it feel more foresty
