What´s wrong?

Thats quite a massive infection. It could be from dust from the sand or something similar. Something that severe should go to the vet.

are they still like that or did they go back to normal after a while? beardies sometimes do that to stretch they eys just a bit when they're uncomfortable...dont ask me why i doubt it's an infection though

I agree, I think that is an infection or irritation, it doesn't look like that when they puff out their eyes.

i have a friend with a veiled chameleon whose eye would puff out rather extermely like that. also look at the mouth, and notice the little sore there. take it to the vet, its gonna need some help. possibly has a sore in its mouth constantly being irritated by cricket legs.
