Very nice!

It's hard to know about the colors due to variation in light and from different cameras, however, she looks odd colored. Have you compared her to other ball pythons and found her to have less yellow? Do you know her background beyond the pet store? Does she leave a dark pattern in her sheds?

She reminds me of an import girl I picked up this year:

Unfortunately, after eating great mine abruptly stopped this fall and is rather dubious for breeding this year.

Thanks!

She is an import and really similar to yours, that's why I bought her. No shed after I bought her yet, so I don't know if she will leave a dark pattern in her sheds. I found several BPs of this kind on internet and they were described as "IMG", and no one knows if this is genetic. Whether it is or not, I love this girl very much, I will try to breed her next season.

By the way, many animals gain pigments from their food, so I think maybe feed her only albino lab mice or rats will keep her cleaner through time. Just my guess.

Somebody hurry up and prove or disprove these things!

Did you get yours directly from the importer? I guess something similar seems to happen sometimes to captive bred animals where a normal will suddenly turn axanthic and I'm worried a scammer will figure out how to trigger it and then sell them as imports. I'm not implying that that is likely the case for yours, mine, or Chris' but just one more thing for the ball community to worry about.

I got her from the store, but I know the importer and I'm sure she is an import. I am in Taiwan, here is almost no CB for sale.
What is the safe lower limit of her weight if I want to breed her next season? I feed her heavily recently.

I am thinking the same thing. axanthic. I don't think it is the IMG isn't that increased melan gene, and they turn really dark. but i could be wrong.

The current "rule of thumb" for first breeding of females is 1,500 grams. I've heard of and seen some go smaller including one that must have just been a naturally small snake even going under 1,000 grams.

My girl stalled out on eating suddenly this fall at 1,100 grams. She doesn't have the proportions of a near mature female (not stocky enough) so unless she suddenly starts eating again I'm thinking this year is missed.

Yours reminds me a lot of mine with the intense light dorsal areas and the flecking in the side. If she follows the pattern of mine she will shed clear to start with but get a little pattern later on as she gets darker and gains a little odd cream yellow on top.

Yours and Chris' both made it to pet stores and I have very little information on mine. It makes me worry that they might have started out more normal looking and changed later or how were they not detected before leaving Africa and funneled into the morph market. Hopefully one of us can prove them soon so I can stop worrying.
