Yeah, put a screen around the lightbulb. Also, it seems a little cramped, don't ya think.

I know it sounds a bit laid back and like I don't care but seriously, he dosen't go no where near the light and never has done. I suppose if he does i'll take your advice, cheers canadianbacon. I don't know wether its the angle which i took the shot or the fact Bentley likes to come down from his mopani roots and lay against the glass (don't know why but he seems happy enough doing it)but the tank is really large and he has plenty of room. I also tend to put some furnishings towards the front to give a nice effect which might also have made it look clutted. Thankyou for your concern anyway bmx_python but rest assured there's more room than appears in this picture. Thanks for your coments guys, I'll go take a look at your galleries. take care.

Woops sorry didn't answer your question canadianbacon. The tank was bought but the digital thermostat and the electronic timing box on the side (which you can't see was built in by a friend of mine.

Looks Great! In the upper left hand corner of your tank, is that monitoring humidity / temp thoughout the tank? If so, the device that you have been using, has it been fairly accurate and consistently reliable? Again, if so, what brand / make / model is it? I've used everything from outdoor thermometers and humidity gauges to infra red temp guns, and nothing as yet seems to be reliable.
Thanks

Thanks Davydoodle. The digital thermostat you see built into the tank is one fitted by a friend of mine who's a refridgeration engineer. They are used commercially in places like kfc and pizza hut. Never had any trouble with mine in three years. Their really good because you can set the sensitivity of them so they keep the temperature within any thing from 1 degree upwards. I have mine set on three degrees so its not always switching the mat on and off. I'm not to sure where to get them cause my friend got this through work but its made by LAE Electronics and the model number is MTR12. You might be able to order one on the internet or maybe there's a place locally to you that deals with such things. Good Luck anyway mate.

I do like that viv i get all mine custum made to my spec i know i seems to be a stupid idea when we can easyly build them ourself but at the end of the day if i made cockups it would cost me so i don't mind paying for someone that knows what they are doing to build them :-)
and whats the size of the viv by the way
