another funny shot of my red tegu valentino sticking his tongue out. he is still very edgy to this moment. i got struck at by him yesterday. if anyone has any ideas on how to calm these beasts down, shoot me a line.
I got my Valentino as a valentines Day gift as well. Tooooo Funny 8) Nice looking Tegu. I used to have a Savannah Monitor, she was older when I got her and very mean so I had to get rid of her.

id leave him out of his cage for a few hrs a day and have him next to you all the time, he'll learn that your no threat to him. id put mine on my computer desk and put a heat pad close to me and eventually he was tempted to lay there. i was really paranoid about slow movements around him too. i started by feedin mine outside of the cage so when he saw me he wanted me to take him out and get feed. good luck with your red, justin

I had a 36 inch gold tegu. It helps if they are cooled down. Once they are not as warm as they should be they are pretty tame.

I had a 36" gold tegu. I found that she was tame when she was cooled down. This may help.
