not sure how old he is but I've had him for about 3 weeks. He's 15" now and growing fast. He eats a ton! Is that normal? This is the first monitor I've had. He's eating mostly crickets and super worms. I give him 1 or 2 pinkies once or twice a week. Thankyou for your comments.

he should be big enuf to eat fuzzys,or small hoppers, give him some exercise chasing them

Actually they are pretty easy to take care of. They don't need huge cages and eat anything! I fed mine worms, crix, ground turkey, mice, and rats. Although he is over 2ft, he is willing to take small crix. Savys can make good pets.

This is my first monitor. I've owned iguanas for 10 years. I never knew monitors ate so much! He's great though but gets a little fistey if I go too long with out handling him. Hopefully he's moving into a new "home" soon. The tank I have him in is getting too small very quick.
