Yearling Coastal

Nice pic, but to my knowledge this looks more like an IJ... why do you call him a costal?

He's a coastal alright. He came from a local reptile shop so my guess is that he is sort of a mix of different carpet species than just a pure coastal. Maybe he's got some ij in him.

im no expert on carpets but id say he looks like a very nice IJ.

lol i know it wasnt just any old pet store you got it from, but damn i think they may have given you the wrong locale info cuz like i said it looks alot like an IJ to me. did you purchase it as a hatchling? perhaps it looked more like a coastal then and developed its IJ coloring as it got older? i dont know what to tell you. without records theres really no way to be completely sure.

I double checked it with the guys at the reptile shop - and they were 100% sure it was a coastal/queensland carpet python. I did get him as a hatchling, and if you browse the photo gallery here, you will see some coastals bearing a similar resemblance to him...
