Gloves aren't real good for the chondro! If it bites them they can break teeth. Bites aren't that bad and they are usually real quick. Get a hook maybe?

Free handling isn't to bad on chondros. Some say they are look at only reps sort of like chameleons. Yet there are people who have perfectly healthy specimens of both and handle them daily. I've never run into any problems.

ive got a biak condro that ive had for a couple months and i handle him daily , he has never bitten me and is an awesome animal and a joy to keep. evry1 at the local pet store was amazed that i could hold him with out him taking a chunk out of my hand. it all depends on the personality of the snake. some snakes truly are like chameleons and cant be handled , then again also like some species of chameleons ( ie veild ) they are very easy to handle

great snake...what locale type is it? We have an aru-type that is EVIL (another we have is tame as a rabbit)...trying to clean the cage is lots of fun! I glove up, too when I have to handle her, that's WITH the snake hook...! I like your setup, too.

I was told that the only time they really strike is when you reach into their enclosure. If you take them out by hook, they can be handled like any other snake. Didn't believe it, but I tried it on mine and it actually worked! Still get nips when I reach in to clean, but once out of the cage, she's calm and moves around like any other snake in my collection. Has anybody else run into this or am I just lucky?

I have had about the same success as wingl. I have a female that is very tame and i can reach in a pull out the perch w/ her on it. Then i let her crawl off of it onto my hand w/ no problem. The same works for my not so tame male. Once i get him out of his cage he will eventually start to crawl off his perch w/ me touching his tail every so often. Once he leaves the perch i can handle him. The only hard part is getting him out of the cage b/c he strikes at me from his perch. I use gloves to clean and get the perch out of the cage (removable perches are a must!). After that it seems they can be handled freely. I can see it in the males face when hes about to strike. Thats just my experience..hope it helps.

I have a baby sorong and he only nipped me once, didnt hurt at all. All you need is some patience and a little bit of handling WEEKLY and he should tame down to some extent. Arus are usually pretty nice an Biaks are known for being pretty mean. You shouldnt handle daily cause they can get stressed and because the have very thin skin. Also a glove might prevent the snake from getting used to your scent. Do all of your handling during the day and your more likely to not get bit.

LoL whatever u decide to do. man up or dont. still a beautiful snake. and i noticed that your glove is pretty thin. so it wouldnt make much of a difference if he/she did decide to bite ya. ive been bitten by a baby. i couldnt imagine that one being much more harmfull. vgl with him/her
