Awesome picture there. Just how big do these guys get? Biggest Diving Beetle I've ever seen here in the US was a roughly 2 1/2 inch long Giant Water Scavenger Beetle found in Texas during my childhood.

Thanks for your comment. It lengths 38mm. What a big beetle that you found. In Japan, biggest water scavenger beetles are only 40mm.

By the way, do you know sunburst diving beetles are in need of hibernation in winter season?
