Easterns are much darker with blacks, blues, browns and yellows of varying shades. They also don't have the distinct black and white bands on the tail. The head is different, the eyes are set lower on the head than the C. atrox etc etc Basically it is a completely different snake. Much like a mouse and a rat. Very similar but yet very different!

Also keep in mind that that is a big snake no doubt, but the camera angle makes it look much larger. That pole is probably at least 4 feet probably longer so it makes the snake look big compared to the guy. I'll bet that snake is 5 and a half to maybe 6 feet. Maybe a little more....

Hell, meant to also say that that must be highly straining the snake's neck..
Two hooks would have worked just as nice..

i have seen this picture before that snake is dead.it isnt sitting on that hook,the hiik is going through his neck.

If the snake was dead, the body would be straight and the head wouldn't be up like that...
