Nice looking ball python...I currently feed my ball python a large mouse every week, i am wondering when i should make the switch to Rats, and advice? thanks

Thanks for the comment! I don't really have a good answer for you on the rats question. This is my first ball, and he's just started eating--I have him on two small mice per feeding. Right now he's too small to be given rats.

to tell male from female you need to get the snake probed!...check your local vets if they do this or not.

you should switch you ball python to rats as soon as possible! You can get baby rats about the size of an adult mouse at most pet stores or you can order frozen rats from www.rodentpro.com !

Hey Python_lover if your snake is about a year old you can look at his spurs. Males have longer spurs. Females have a very wide girth and a wide head. Females also get much larger than males. So how old and how long is your bp? Hope it helps. Reptile_gal
