Thanks! It's just a 50 gallon reptile tank (w/ sliding screen top) from the petstore. The backgound is from the fish department. The branches are from the bird department. All the other deco is from the reptile department.

this is a very nice setup! but i have some concerns....you have alot of decor and its going to be a hastle to clean the cage..if i were you i would get some cypress from lowes department store(its only $3 for a huge bag)! and you should cover the majority of the screen because with open top cages the humidity really sucks!! you going to experience some shedding probs....with cyress you will have better humidity with frequient cage spraying and with the carpet in there its not going to hold moisture what so ever!

but its a nice setup but you WILL have alot of problems with it if you keep the carpet and a screen top!

good luck!

Thanks, but I've had this setup for 8 months with no problem. I took the lid off for the picture. The carpet is no problem - I love the look of it and despite what everyone thinks it is easy to clean. Easier to me then having to find feces/urates in a loose substrate. I just keep a clean piece on hand and every week and change them out. I do not have humidity problems, as I keep the screen top covered with duct tape and have added a Tropic-Aire humidifier with air pump. Decor is not difficult to clean either. My BP defecates and urinates in the same place, so I spot clean the area asap. He defecates 3 days after a meal and that is when I change the carpet and clean & disinfect any deco that came in contact with feces (usually it's the tree stump). It's great/easy having a BP that's potty-trained. :)

Heat and humidity are not a problem. Tanks can work!

Thanks for the compliment!

Thank you! I've since taken the large branch out - he didn't really use it. But he uses the horizontal branch a lot. At night he'll come out and perch the front half of his body on the branch and rest the back half on the stump.

I got him when he was 2 months old and I've had him for 14 months. He eats frozen/thawed, but has gone off feed for now - gotta love ball pythons!

frozen huh do you have to coax him to eat :) I feed live but I might have to change my female bp to frozen because she is not a graceful striker:) I'll tell you some funny feeding stories if you want. PS there short

F/t or prekilled is much safer (rodents do fight back at times and becomes more dangerous as you move up in prey size)and healthier (freezing kills parasites). It can take some time with some bps. The trick is to make them think it's live - make it move a bit and get it warm enough. Since bps have heat pits the temp of they're food is more important than say colubrids. Normal mouse body temp is about the same as ours, but my bp happens to like his really hot and after thawing I have to warm his food up to at least 108 degrees (measure with a temp gun) before he'll eat it. Just gotta find what works for your snake.

yeah I guess thats true. are they cheaper dead? I know it depends on were you buy them but are they normally cheaper anyway? have you ever gone on lllreptile.com? Its great I think they sell frozen rodents really cheap. thats were I got my snakes. And I just have to say it again ''I love your setup''

I've never compared the prices of f/t vs live. I buy mine from my local reptile show. When I did check, the shipping made ordering online too expensive - so I was glad to find they sold them at the reptile show. Thanks again!
