Keywords: Trying to identify

These types of lizards live in my yard. Can someone please identify the kind of lizard this might be?

I want to thank "THOMNOPHILE" for identifying the other lizard in my yard - Cuban Knight Anole. I have to delete the picture in order to upload this one - Thanks!

Thanks for the update! My husband is telling me that he thinks it's a Northern curly-tailed. I looked up a picture of both, fence and curly-tailed and they both look very similar. Do you know of a specific characteristic that would differentiate one from the other? The obvious would be the "curly tail" but it's not always curly according to what I've been reading.

Hi Missy. That looks like a curly tail to me. Many years ago, they were only seen up in West Palm and down in Miami, but now they have filled in the gap and are becoming really common all over Palm Beach and Broward counties. They are great lizards to watch so be happy you have them living in your yard! Billy

Deffinately a curly tail, fence lizards will have blue on their stomachs. males have more than the females but it's still there. They were introduced to Florida from the Bahamas I believe. I used to catch tons of those in Bimini.
