Hi,I'm new to insect photography and found this caterpillar on my first trip "bug hunting".I've never seen one before.

It looks like a close relation to the Puss Moth larvae, but that's not it. I can't find it in my books, so I can't help you. Stunning find, though. It may even be a new type of insect. :)

That is a viceroy caterpillar. It's butterfly form is veyr similar to that of the monarch.
