that's a nice doreanus. i have a male, aprox 2 years old, and he is very friendly - feeds from my hands. however, i have trouble finding an ideal cage setup for him. i previously had him in a 75 gallon aquarium, but he would bump his nose in the glass quite often, so i changed him to a reptarium. he clawed his way through the screen of the reptarium, and i found him in my closet inside one of my sweaters! i purchased a newer reptarium and trim his nails weekly to prevent this. just curious as to the setup you have yours in. thank you.

hi
I recently sold this guy together with his cagemate (slightly bigger female) they were housed in 2.5 m x 0,9 m x 0,8 m enclosure. They were quite shy but were bought as adults. I now have 2 small ones left and have good hopes they will be more tolerant. maybe its helpfull to decorate the viv with as much branches and other stuff as possible...

cheers mark

Doreanus has been my favorite for a long time. I have a few but my oldest is about 5 years and 5 feet. His enclosure is 4'x6'x4,5'tall. It is permenantly build into the monitor house but fairly inexpensive to build. The best mesh I have found to use is sold at Home Depot and other places. It is a heavy duty black plastic mesh found in the fencing isle. I get the 3'x15' rolls for about $14.00 U.S. Just make sure to have plenty of plants and organic soil for them to hide and dig. Great picture!
