If you're compalining about it so much, then why did you buy the poor little thing? Pity Purchase?

The sad truth, is that buying sickly animals at pet stores is bad. It encourages the store to buy more, and therefore neglect more. If you really wanna help, stop buying from pet stores until they eventually are forced to stop carrying such sick animals. That is better than supposedly rescuing them. So, to answer the question below, would I be able to turn it down? Yes. And I do it all too often. But it's part of my fight against the capturing/selling of abused Anoles.

I can see where you are coming from ALAnolis
, but if you saw this poor little man in the shop near to death I dont think you would be able to turn a blind eye to it - or at least I know I couldn't. Good work I say Sarah.

I am against feeding Anoles in general, but your comment has one major drawback that even someone who hates Anoles cannot refute: never feed sick and malnourished prey!

Reply to codeykat: Please read my first post above.
Reply to GotHerps: For the most part, I have seen many Anoles at many different stores that were being promoted specifically as feeders. Most are considered "lower grade" Anoles, which is based on the logic that less appealing specimens won't be demanded as pets. The ironic thing is, feeders should be healthy choices, meaning people are getting poor feeders.

Just curious... People pay money for Anoles? At any given moment, there must be a thousand of them around my house. All different types.

im dissapointed in you all... the person put forth an act of compassion, which surely makes god smile. just saying it is "just a 2.00 anole" is plain sad, not to mention it shows your little respect for a living thing. only lamers are flamers ;-) anoles of all kinds are cute, quirky and eye-pleasing lizards and I love them. many people breed guppies for show. besides. i dont think a pet-store owner will be obligated to stock their store with sick-malnourished animals just because someone buys one sick anole. *yawns*

I second that, Sigma. Whatever the user's name is that did this act of kindness.. I am proud of you. You did nothing wrong, and as Sigma said it is good in God's eyes. How can it be wrong to help? ONE ANOLE too? Only one.. not twelve.. Take care and I'm sure your poor, tortured anole will be in the best of care with you. ;)

I agree with TebbyGecko, animals have feelings to. By the way all animals should be able to eat.And not starved.
