that is a chicken turtle they are a great pet, if you have a suitable vivarium you should keep it.

people say, it is a great pet, keep it. I say NO. keeping wild pets only makes their natural number decline. If you find another, the opposite sex, breed them if you can. This sounds like i think they are endangered, but no, you get the idea. youre choice though. Keep him ------ONLY------ if you feel you and your son can take care of it. they are messy eaters. Do research. nice pic

thats not a chickin turtle its a slider or cotter i rase chickin turtles and their heads are alot smaler and longer

That's definately a red eared slider, you can see the marking behind the eye and the other facial markings that identify it.

Hey there...........I keep eastern chicken turtles and I can tell you for sure that IS NOT a deirochelys(chicken turtle).......looks to be a yellowbelly slider or redear, chicken turtles have long thin necks and a dont have that keel down the middle of the shell, can you post another pic to make sure, what state did you find it in, i could be of good help
