There is nothing wrong with useing play sand for older juvies/adults, if properly suplimented and cared for.

calcium sand is the worst possible sand out there,if they lick it they dont get any calcium they get sand, its not digestable so they cant absorb the calcium, if you want a nice substate thats safe and looks like sand, go to a supermarket and look for "Wheatena" in the oatmeal section, i use it and never had a problem with it, i strongly suggest it, think about your leos life..not the way the tank looks..

I definately agree w/ Medievel about the sand. Whether it looks nice or not, it IS a risk. And while your geckos may not die from it, they easily could, and you shouldn't risk that just so your tank looks nicer. just get some tile, i think it's better looking anyways, and it's much easier to clean.

what the hell are you jumping on his back for when he is trying to save ur leos life... no matter what u say its not going to change the fact that sand, even calcium, is a risk to your leos life. I think that is a important subject and you would too if you care about your leo ( not saying you dont)But, i know the sand may look great and u dont give a damn just wanted to give u my 2 cents.
