What is this Fish!?

Keywords: freshwater livebearer

**Sorry about the lousy photo! Moving fish, bad lighting, and cheap digital cameras do NOT mix.**

Can you help id this guy? Here's the history: He was brought home from a first grade classroom science project by my daughter in June, 2000. (We've had him 4 years.) He is very light silver/gray, no markings except that red nose, which *very recently* has colored up. Before that, it was a pale orange.

He lives alone in a little 2 gallon hex with some floating plants, eats flake food (he's a top feeder) and has killed off any attemped roommate. (We learned our lesson quickly!) He's slender, very active, and only about an inch long. The fins are almost clear.

He looks very "livebearerish" (?) and some suggestions have been some type of Gambusia or a Girardinus Metalicus. I haven't seen ANY pic that looks exactly like him, and I'm just dying of curiosity.

Anyone??? :-)

The pic is kinda blurry but it could be a Japanese(asian) rice fish which doesnt need heat. do a search see if it matches it. either way 4 yrs for a small fish like that is incredible. It must be very happy.

Looks like a rummy-nose tetra.
