Trying to figure out if it's ok for my tortoise to eat this plant, it grows all over my yard...

This is a member of the "Mint" genus (It has the tell tale "squared stem".) I believe this is Lamium amplexicali. Lamiums can be a fed to a variety of animals. You can even make a tea from their leaves. It is quite delicious. There is another plant that is even better.... Lamium purpureum (is more "stalk-like" and has a purple tint to the leaves near the top. I have studied these plants for a long time and have fed them to my Beardie. (He likes the flowers)....Be careful with collecting, they are notorious for ants. Try making tea (iced or hot!)

Thank you Very much!!! If you've been studying plants for feeding to animals I sure would like to email you some pics of other plants in my yard. My front yard is covered in a different type of Mint that I've learned is called Heal All or Self Heal (common name) I don't know the fancy name. It has round balls with a few purple flowers sticking out. I also have Wild Carrot (Queen Anne's Lace) and some plants which someone said were "Plantains" not like the little bananas. I'll email you if that's ok?
