We thought at first we had a baby corn snake but people have told us it wasn't. Some suggested it to be a Midland Water Snake. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

It might be a funky crossbreed or something. it's really pretty. If it's aggressive it might be a water snake. all of the water snakes I've chased were VERY highly aggressive.

We found this snake about 40yards from a small stream, on a wooded lot, behind my mother-in-laws house. We live in Eastern North Carolina. Goldsboro to be exact. I havn't found that many pics that look a whole lot like it. But he is'nt that aggressive. Thanks

I'm from the southeast US and it looks like the midlands we have in Alabama. It's for sure a water snake, but appears midland to me.

I can say surely that is no cornsnake. That is a water snake. I don't know exactly what typr of water snake, but it is a water snake. Not all water snakes are aggressive, I have a northern and a florida and neither bite. Corn snakes and water snakes cannot hybridize, water snakes give live birth and corn snakes lay eggs.
