Went herping with a buddy Saturday(6/26/04), came back with this guy(or girl- not sure). This kind of find is not too common up here in Appalachians anymore.

Keith
I found him in Buncombe CO., NC. By the way, I was at the site, or at least the property where I found him, this morning. On the edge of the road there was a squashed 10" E King. Really pissed me off. Also about an hour later heading back to the office I spotted a 3' black snake dead on the road too. We've been getting a whole lot of rain here for the last couple of years and I think that all the water's contributing to the teeming wildlife- snakes, bugs, and everything else alive. I've never seen so much carnage on the roads here and I've been here for 9 years. Just this summer alone we've spotted at least 20 snakes dead on the road, mostly black snakes. A lot of people around here actually aim for them.
Give me your email address or the website you want to post the pic. on. I'd be happy to provide it. However you might want to wait a couple of more days, shortly after I obtained the king, he started his molting process. I think he'll shed within a day or two, afterwards looking quite brilliant. Let me know. My email is: darius@blueridgelandsurvey.com
see ya
